MEAComS Wins Best Corporate Video Honour at African Excellence Awards

Egypt’s Boutique Communications Agency Beats Competition by Leveraging Message of Empowerment for Youth, Women and Entrepreneurs

Cairo, Egypt – February, 2nd 2016 – Egypt’s boutique communications agency MEAComS is thrilled to announced it has won a 2015 African Excellence Award for Best Corporate Video. The African Excellence Awards, which launched last year, celebrate the brightest public relations stars in dozens of unique categories and are hosted by trade publication, Communication Director, the industry’s go-to magazine for the latest trends in communications and public relations worldwide.

Hundreds of companies from Africa, Latin America, North America and Asia Pacific joined their European counterparts for the first time to compete in their region’s Excellence Awards. Looking back now, MEAComS founder and managing director Fatma z. Ahmed says the company’s seven-year anniversary since inception was the perfect opportunity to branch out and try the unexpected.

“We are so honoured to be recognized by the African Excellence Awards. Our video commemorating seven years in business was a true labour of love. But we didn’t do it alone. We were supported by dozens of amazing clients, partners and team members as soon as we opened our doors and proved just how passionate we are about communications. We would like to thank everyone, including Edelman PR, for their continued support,” said Ms. Ahmed. “MEAComS has grown so much and met every challenge head on. We are expecting more of the same success in 2016.”

The winning video detailed MEAComS’ mission to empower youth and women entrepreneurs across the country by showcasing how hard work, dedication and co-operation can lead to success. It also leveraged the firm’s newfound focus on digital media solutions designed to be easily shared via social media, thereby targeting younger audiences. The project took three months to complete and featured many of MEAComS’ closest clients and network allies, such as Shahira Amin, Independent Journalist and Women Activist, Essam Youssef, Author of ¼ Gram novel, Shell Lubricants Egypt, the African Development Bank, Vital Voices, Women Empowerment Entrepreneurs and Heliopolis Heritage Initiative.

“The African Excellence Awards recognize the best of the best in our industry and are highly competitive, as you can see looking at our list of winners. Our judges saw the incredible potential MEAComS has as a digital content producer, which will serve its staff well as more companies seek out video services and online campaigns. We wish them all the best in the future,” said Rudolf Hetzel, Chairman of the African Excellence Awards Jury.

MEAComS was founded in 2008 by businesswoman and entrepreneur Ms. Ahmed with the goal of creating a boutique communications firm that could service international and local clients. It began with a small selection of clients and quickly grew into a PR force to be reckoned with. One of MEAComS’ major milestones happened in January 2015 when the firm became an exclusive Edelman affiliate in Egypt.

The affiliation means Edelman can tap into MEAComS’ local expertise and on-the-ground market support, while MEAComS staff and clients get access to the global agency’s vast network of experts, best practices and professional development and training programs.

The Awards ceremony and networking event will take place on April 21, 2016 in Cape Town, South Africa and are part of a worldwide series of Excellence Awards taking place in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America. See more info here.
