Cambridge Recognizes the Great Achievements of Egyptian Students

At a grand ceremony last night, Cambridge International Examinations in co-operation with the British Council, presented awards to the winners of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards in Egypt. The ceremony was held at the British Embassy in Cairo and under the patronage of H HMA John Casson, British Ambassador to Egypt. The event was attended by HE Dr Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Vocational Education, and senior executives from Cambridge and the British Council.
The awards celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of Egyptian secondary school learners in the June and November 2016 Cambridge examination series.

Over 100 learners in Egypt received awards for exceptional performance in Cambridge examinations, including six learners who attained the highest marks in the highest marks in the world:

H.E Ambassador of UK in Egypt, John Casson told the winners: “Cambridge exams are challenging and you reached the highest level. You’ve done so well and have made us all proud. Your inspiration shall reflect from you all for the future of Egypt.”

Speaking to the winners, H.E Minister of Education, Dr Tarek Shawki said: “You achieved great results and I hope you inspire your peers in Egypt to learn and reach new heights. The collaboration of Cambridge in education is solid and we are working on projects that will make a positive difference in the country.”

Michael O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Cambridge, said: ‘We have young people here who are not only prepared for university but also prepared for the future. Students owe this success to their parents, teachers and schools; that whole support system that has enabled them to achieve success and be here today.
